Trump calls for Iranian enriched uranium to be handed over to US
US President Donald Trump has stated that Iran’s enriched uranium should either be immediately transferred to the United States for removal and destruction or eliminated on-site under international supervision.
In a post on Truth Social, the US president said the material should be destroyed either in Iran or at another mutually acceptable location in coordination with the Islamic Republic, Caliber.Az reports.
“The Enriched Uranium (Nuclear Dust!) will either be immediately turned over to the United States to be brought home and destroyed or, preferably, in conjunction and coordination with the Islamic Republic of Iran, destroyed in place or, at another acceptable location, with the Atomic Energy Commission, or its equivalent, being witness to this process and event. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DJT,” Trump wrote.
Earlier, Trump said negotiations with Iran are “proceeding nicely”, stressing that any potential agreement would either be “a great deal” or no deal at all, and describing the proposed deal as “historic”.
He made it clear that if no deal is reached, they will return to the battlefield, to military action, but on a larger and more powerful scale than ever before, adding that “nobody wants that.”
