Trump calls Zelenskyy’s White House behavior “aggressive”
US President Donald Trump has described Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s behaviour during a heated exchange in the Oval Office in February 2025 as “aggressive.”
In an interview with radio host Hugh Hewitt, Trump said Zelenskyy is not an easy person, but the US wants to get a settlement, Calibre.Az reports.
“They are losing territory, but it's at a big cost to Russia and to them [...] I've always sort of gotten along with him other than the one moment in the White House, which I thought was a little aggressive on his behalf,” he noted.
Trump stressed that Biden gave Zelenskyy $350 billion worth of money and equipment and everything else, which is “ridiculous.”
“But you know, I sell them the equipment full course. We sell it to the European Union. We sell it to NATO basically, and they give it out,” he added.
The heated exchange between Zelenskyy and Trump took place during a meeting at the White House in the presence of journalists.
The discussion escalated into a verbal clash, during which Trump accused Zelenskyy of showing disrespect toward the United States, while Vice President JD Vance criticised him for a lack of gratitude for American assistance.
A planned press conference following the meeting was ultimately cancelled.
