Trump floats Russia–China participation in Gaza rebuilding push
US President Donald Trump suggested during a Board of Peace meeting that Russia and China are likely to participate in financing the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.
Speaking at the first meeting of the Board in Washington, the American leader stated that Japan had announced its intention to hold a major fundraising event to support Gaza and added that other regional countries, including South Korea, the Philippines, and Singapore, would also participate, Caliber.Az reports.
“Additionally, Japan has just committed to host an aid fundraiser, which will be a very big one, very -- it's already successful. We know some of the numbers that are being talked about, which will be attended by other nations in the region, including South Korea, the Philippines, Singapore and others. And I know that China is going to be involved, and I think Russia is going to be involved,” Trump said.
He added that support for Gaza should involve all sides, emphasising that limiting participation to a single ideological group is unreasonable and that a broader, inclusive approach is necessary.
“I think they will be -- I want to have everybody, get all sides, because it doesn't help when you have all sides with one ideology. You have to have everybody together for this,” Trump stated.
