Trump, Harris show nearly identical voter support in US
A recent poll has revealed that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and current Vice President Kamala Harris enjoy nearly equal levels of support among American voters.
Thus, 48 per cent of respondents identified as Trump supporters, while 47 per cent supported Harris. These figures have remained virtually unchanged since the previous survey conducted at the end of July, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
Harris holds a slight lead over Trump in key swing states such as Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. In other swing states, including Nevada, Georgia, North Carolina, and Arizona, support for both candidates is evenly matched.
The survey, conducted from July 22 to 24, included 1,142 participants and has a statistical margin of error of 3.3 per cent.
Kamala Harris has announced her intention to run in the presidential election scheduled for November 2024.
Earlier, on July 21, US President Joe Biden would be withdrawing from the presidential race. The president also stated that he would continue to fulfill his duties until the end of his term and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic candidate for the presidency.
