Trump trolls world leaders, reposts AI map showing Canada, Greenland, Venezuela as US
US President Donald Trump has sparked attention online by posting a map on social media depicting Canada, Greenland and Venezuela as part of the United States.
The image, created using artificial intelligence, shows European leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, observing the “new territories”.
The post, published without any accompanying text on Trump’s Truth Social account, follows a pattern of similar jokes by the president.
He has previously shared maps in which Canada appears as part of the US and has often playfully suggested that Canadians should join the United States as a 51st state.
On January 20, Trump posted the same illustration depicting Greenland and Canada in the US flag, calling them “territorial acquisitions.” The image showed him presenting a map to European representatives, following an earlier post suggesting the US could acquire Greenland in 2026.
Trump has repeatedly expressed interest in buying Greenland, citing its strategic Arctic location, US military installations, and potential security and resource benefits.
Both Denmark, which governs Greenland, and Greenlandic leaders have firmly rejected the idea, stressing the territory is not for sale.
