Trump reacts to Congress move to limit war powers during Iran talks “They should be ashamed of themselves”
US President Donald J. Trump has criticised members of Congress after the House of Representatives passed a measure he says would limit his war powers during ongoing negotiations involving the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump described the vote as “meaningless” and accused “all of the Democrats” and four Republicans of supporting legislation he argued was aimed at constraining his authority at a sensitive moment in diplomatic discussions.
He claimed the move came “right in the middle” of what he characterised as final-stage negotiations to end conflict involving Iran, and suggested lawmakers were aware of the status of those talks.
"The Democrats are fueled by Trump Derangement Syndrome. They would rather have our Country fail than give me another, of many, victories," he wrote.
He also singled out the Republican defectors, calling them “grandstanders” and saying they should be “ashamed”.
