Trump rejects Iran proposal, signals hard line on nuclear talks

US President Donald Trump has confirmed that he rejected Iran’s latest proposal, reiterating his administration’s opposition to any nuclear-related provisions in the offer.

“I looked at it, and if I don’t like the first sentence, I just throw it away,” he told reporters aboard Air Force One, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media. 

Asked what the first sentence of the rejected proposal was, Trump described it as “unacceptable”.

“If they have any nuclear of any form, I don’t read the rest of it,” he stated.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran had received a new message from Washington suggesting continued interest in negotiations, despite Trump previously posting that Iran’s proposal was unacceptable.
