Trump reveals sudden Iranian offer after US scraps negotiators’ visit

US President Donald Trump has claimed that the United States received a new proposal from Iran after a scheduled visit by negotiators to Pakistan was cancelled.

Speaking to journalists before departing Palm Beach, Florida, for Washington, Trump said Iran’s earlier proposal in talks with the US “should have been better.”

“And interestingly, immediately when I cancelled it, within 10 minutes, we got a newspaper that was much better,” he said.

When asked about a possible moratorium on uranium enrichment by Tehran, Trump stated that “they offered a lot, but not enough.”

He also reiterated his position that “Iran can not have nuclear weapon,” and again argued that they [United States] “have all the cards” in the negotiations.
