Trump says Iran will be ready for peace deal “very soon”

US President Donald Trump argued that Iran is not yet prepared to reach a peace agreement, claiming that Tehran repeatedly seeks to change the terms of any arrangement with Washington, according to ABC News.

“They want to make a deal. But I say they're not ready to make a deal. Because every time they make a deal, they want to change it and everything. They're not ready. They'll be ready very soon,” Trump noted.

A day earlier, the American leader stated that Iranian authorities wanted to hold another meeting with the United States to discuss ending hostilities. However, he said Washington is not interested in negotiations at this stage and that Tehran must first prepare for talks “properly.”

Iranian officials rejected Trump’s claims. Hassan Ghashghavi, spokesperson for the Iranian parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, said the US president’s assertions that Tehran had approached Washington seeking to resume negotiations were not true.
