Iran rejects Trump's claim of seeking talks with US

Iran has dismissed US President Donald Trump's claim that Tehran is the party seeking to resume negotiations with Washington.

Hasan Ghashghavi, spokesperson for the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, said Trump's assertions "do not correspond to reality," Caliber.Az reports.

According to him, the US president should seek "more effective ways" to deal with the current situation.

The Iranian lawmaker also made it clear that "repeating falsehoods will not bring even short-term reassurance to financial markets."
