Trump slams US role in Ukraine, calls previous administration “foolish”
US President Donald Trump said the United States should not have intervened in the conflict in Ukraine or provided the country with free military aid.
Speaking with reporters at the White House, Trump argued that the US was drawn into a distant conflict unnecessarily, European Pravda reports.
He said that the United States should not have gotten involved in Ukraine, as it was thousands of miles away across the ocean, and added that the country had helped Ukraine under a “foolish president” who had given $350 billion without receiving anything in return.
Trump also criticized former President Joe Biden for sending munitions to Ukraine, which he claimed are urgently needed elsewhere, particularly in the Middle East.
He said that munitions were being produced everywhere because they were needed, noting that so much had been given to Ukraine with nothing received in return. Trump emphasized that he was selling munitions and pointed out that the European Union was paying for them, questioning the situation and suggesting that they should be taking action.
