“Today is a great day, we will see how it ends,” Trump said at the start of his address. He added that he believes Hamas wants lasting peace and insisted that Israel should immediately stop bombing Gaza in order to free captives, praising Hamas’ response to the negotiations.
“I want to thank the countries that helped me put this together: Qatar, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan and others. Today is a big day, we will see how it turns out. We have to get final word down and concrete,” he noted.
Trump stressed that his main expectation is the swift release of captives and their safe return. “So I wanna let you know that this is a very special day, maybe unprecedented in many ways. Thank you all to those great countries that help, you giving a tremendous amount of help. Everybody were unified in wanting this war to end and see peace in the Middle East. We are very close to achieving that goal. Thank you all and everybody will be treated fairly,” the US president declared.
