Trump: US to take action if Russia fails to meet expectations
US President Donald Trump stated that Washington will take action if Russia’s conduct does not meet expectations regarding the resolution of the Ukrainian crisis.
He made the remarks to journalists at the start of a meeting with Polish President Karol Nawrocki at the White House.
“I have no message for Putin. He knows where I stand and will make a decision one way or the other,” Trump said.
“Whatever decision he has, we’ll be happy or unhappy about it. Whatever—you’ll see,” he added, without specifying what actions he meant.
Trump reacted emotionally to a reproach from a Polish journalist, who mentioned the lack of US action against Russia since Trump took office.
“There’s no action? Of course there’s been action—hundreds of billions of dollars have cost Russia. You call that no action? And I haven’t even started Phase 2 or Phase 3 yet, but when you say there’s no action, I think you should give yourself a new job,” he said.
