Trump weighs joining Inter-Maritime Summit in April, Polish officials confirm
US President-elect Donald Trump has expressed interest in participating in the upcoming Inter-Maritime (Three Seas Initiative) Summit, scheduled to take place in Poland this spring.
According to the Office of Polish President Andrzej Duda, discussions about Trump’s potential attendance have already taken place, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
Wojciech Kolarski, Minister in the Office of the Polish President, confirmed that Trump’s interest was piqued after Duda extended an invitation following Trump’s election victory.
“The President mentioned the summit of the Three Seas Initiative in Warsaw, dedicated to the 10th anniversary of this platform of cooperation between Central and Eastern European countries that are members of the European Union. This information aroused the interest of President Trump,” Kolarski stated.
The Inter-Maritime Summit will occur on April 28-29 in Warsaw. Trump is no stranger to this platform, having attended the summit in 2017 during his first term as US President.
Kolarski also highlighted the strong rapport between Duda’s team and Trump’s incoming administration. “We are in constant contact about the meeting of the presidents. As soon as the date is determined, the Polish public will be informed about it immediately,” he added.
Additionally, President Andrzej Duda is expected to attend Trump’s inauguration on January 20, underscoring the close ties between Poland and the United States.
