Turkic States ministers to convene in Azerbaijan for groundbreaking social policy talks
Azerbaijan is set to host a key meeting of ministers and heads of departments responsible for social policy from the member states of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) later this year.
The announcement was made by Azerbaijan's State Committee for Family, Women, and Children's Affairs in its 2024 report, according to Caliber.Az.
The decision to hold the gathering in Azerbaijan was finalized during the first meeting on “International Family Day” in Istanbul last year.
This upcoming event aims to strengthen cooperation and dialogue among OTS member countries on social policy issues, with a particular focus on family, women's, and children's rights. The meeting will provide a platform for discussions on best practices, the exchange of ideas, and the formulation of joint strategies to improve social welfare in the Turkic world.
The OTS, established to promote collaboration and solidarity among Turkic-speaking nations, has been increasingly focused on advancing social issues that impact families and communities in the region. The forthcoming summit in Azerbaijan is expected to be a significant step forward in fostering closer ties and collaborative efforts to address shared challenges in social policy.
The organization aims to further deepen and widen cooperation and solidarity among the Turkic States, within a multilateral framework based on common history, language and culture of the Turkic World.
