Turkish interior minister to visit Syria, hold talks on security
Turkish Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi will pay an official visit to Syria, where he is expected to hold talks on security cooperation, border security and the voluntary return of Syrian refugees.
During the visit, Çiftçi is scheduled to meet his Syrian counterpart, Anas Hassan Khattab, with whom he will sign a memorandum on emergency management, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.
He will also hold talks with Emergency and Disaster Management Minister Raed Al-Saleh.
The discussions are expected to focus on security cooperation, emergency management, law enforcement training and the voluntary return of Syrian refugees.
According to the report, the meetings will also cover efforts to combat organised crime, drug trafficking and smuggling, as well as border security.
