Turkish leader calls for Istanbul process revival
Türkiye is actively pursuing diplomatic solutions for the Ukraine conflict and advocates for the revival of the Istanbul process.
President Erdogan made these remarks during a press conference in Washington after the NATO summit, Caliber.Az reports citing the Turkish media.
"Since the onset of the conflict in Ukraine, we have been actively engaged in diplomatic efforts to resolve it. We support the revival of the Istanbul process and firmly believe that a just peace leaves no one as a loser," he stated.
Erdogan also emphasised Türkiye's opposition to NATO's involvement in the Ukraine conflict, saying, "NATO should not be allowed to become a party to the conflict. I made this stance clear at the summit."
Türkiye aims for full membership in Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.
The Istanbul Process represents an important diplomatic effort to address one of the most significant conflicts in Europe in recent decades. By providing a platform for dialogue and negotiation, it seeks to mitigate tensions, reduce hostilities, and ultimately contribute to a peaceful resolution of the conflict. The involvement of Türkiye and other international actors underscores the collaborative nature of the process and the shared commitment to finding a sustainable solution.
