Turkish military neutralizes over 2,600 terrorists since January 2024
The Turkish military has neutralized 2,611 terrorists in the region since January 1, 2024, according to the Ministry of Defence.
Zeki Aktürk, the head of the ministry's press office, revealed that over the past week, Turkish forces had neutralized 72 terrorists in northern Iraq and Syria, Caliber.Az reports.

The total number of terrorists neutralized since the beginning of the year has now reached 2,611.
Aktürk also highlighted the success of Operation Pençe-Kilit, which began on April 17, 2022, in northern Iraq. He confirmed that the Zap region had been cleared of terrorists during the operation.
Furthermore, Aktürk provided updates on the ongoing efforts in the Pençe-Kilit operation.
To date, 1,128 terrorists have been eliminated through aerial and ground operations.
Additionally, 3,146 mines and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) planted by terrorists have been neutralized, while 1,317 caves and shelters have been destroyed.
In total, 2,408 pieces of weaponry, including 948 units of heavy artillery, nearly 900,000 rounds of ammunition, and various other equipment have been seized.
