Türkiye ready to once again provide platform for Russia-Ukraine talks
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that Türkiye is ready to once again provide a platform for negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
President Erdogan made these remarks in a video message to the participants of the summit of Western Balkan countries in Albania, TASS reports.
The video message was released by the Turkish leader’s administration.
“We fundamentally support the peace plan proposed by [Ukrainian President Volodymyr] Zelenskyy. I am convinced that a necessary condition for the success of peace initiatives in Ukraine is the participation of both sides [Russia and Ukraine] in the negotiations. We are ready to again provide a platform for negotiations, which were previously held in Istanbul,” he said.
“I think that a chance must be used through diplomacy and dialogue to end the war by achieving a just and lasting peace. It is necessary to make joint efforts to at least determine the general parameters of peace,” President Erdogan added.
