Türkiye, Syria discuss joint fight against disinformation photo

Syrian Information Minister Hamza al-Mustafa held talks on February 26 with Burhanettin Duran, head of the Turkish Presidential Communications Directorate, to discuss joint strategies aimed at countering disinformation in the media space.

The meeting was reported by the Telegram channel of the Syrian Ministry of Information. Discussions focused on expanding cooperation between the media sectors of Syria and Türkiye, with both sides emphasising coordinated efforts to address misinformation.

During the talks, the participants underlined that relations between the Syrian and Turkish peoples are rooted in deep historical ties that extend beyond shared interests. They also stressed the importance of maintaining effective communication channels as a means of supporting regional peace and stability.

Al-Mustafa arrived in Ankara at the invitation of the Turkish president’s communications leadership. According to officials, the primary purpose of the visit is to strengthen bilateral cooperation and improve coordination in media policy and communication strategies between the two countries.
