Two civilians killed in Russian drone strikes on Ukraine’s Sumy region
Two civilians have been killed in a series of Russian drone strikes targeting border communities in Ukraine’s Sumy district, regional governor Oleh Hryhorov announced.
According to local authorities, a 73-year-old man in the Myropillia community was fatally struck when a Russian drone conducted a precision attack on a civilian vehicle.
In a separate incident in the Krasnopillia community, another drone targeted a second car, injuring both occupants. A 61-year-old man later succumbed to his injuries, while a female passenger was hospitalized and is receiving necessary medical treatment.
Officials underscored that conditions in the border areas remain extremely perilous, warning residents that safe evacuation is possible only through organized convoys operating in armored vehicles.
