Typhoon Dujuan leaves thousands without power in Japan
28 September 2026 10:08
More than 4,000 people remain without electricity in Japan’s Chiba Prefecture after Typhoon Dujuan struck the country’s Pacific coast on September 20.
Local authorities said 13 people had died and two others remained missing, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
Landslides triggered by the typhoon damaged a railway line at five locations. The line, previously used by about 54,000 people a day, is expected to take at least three months to restore.
Additional buses have been provided for local residents, with long queues reported at bus stops.
Meanwhile, a 5 sq km area of Chiba remains flooded after a dam breach.
The area includes residential properties and farmland, with nearly 1,700 buildings reported to have been damaged.
