UAE reaffirms commitment to political settlement with Iran

Anwar Gargash, adviser to the President of the United Arab Emirates, has said that the UAE remains committed to a political path for resolving regional disputes involving Iran through negotiations, according to a post on X.

“We did not seek this war and have sincerely worked to avoid it. Arab-Iranian relations in the Gulf cannot be built on confrontation and conflicts in a region whose peoples are bound by deep geographical and historical ties.

The defence of the homeland is a sacred duty, and the UAE will defend its sovereignty with strength, efficiency, and unwavering resolve. However, their priority and firm belief remains the supremacy of political solutions, based on the conviction that this is the only path to achieving peace, stability, and prosperity,” Gargash wrote.
