UK reports case of rare monkeypox infection
The UK healthcare authorities have revealed a rare viral monkeypox infection.
“The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) can confirm that a person has been diagnosed with monkeypox in England,” TASS reports, referring to the UKHSA.
The infected person has recently visited Nigeria. The health authorities are convinced that he may have contracted the virus there.
The medical assistance is rendered to the infected person in one of London’s hospitals. UKHSA experts will reportedly get in touch with people who may have been in contact with the hospitalized person.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), monkeypox is a rare zoonotic virus disease which is manly spread in remote areas in central and western Africa, located near tropical rainforests.
