UK’s Maritime Trade Operations reports incident in Red Sea
United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) has received the information about an incident which occurred off the coast of Yemen in the Red Sea.
“UKMTO Warning Incident 096 Suspicious Approach - UKMTO has received a report of an incident 13NM southwest of Al Mukha, Yemen,” Caliber.Az reports citing UKMTO’s message posted on its website.
On June 27 UKMTO received a report from a third party of an attack on a vessel had taken place 83NM southwest of Al Hudaydah, Yemen. The nature of the attack was reported as a waterborne improvised explosive device. The vessel and crew were reported as safe and the vessel was proceeding to their next port of call. Military authorities continued to investigate. Vessels were advised to transit with caution and report any suspicious activity to UKMTO.
