Media: Netanyahu exposed to potential sniper attack in New York hotel
A photograph circulating online has prompted significant scrutiny regarding the security arrangements for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his visit to New York, according to Cursor Info.
The image shows the prime minister sitting for hours by a hotel window with no visible protection, leaving him exposed to potential sniper fire.
The incident comes less than three weeks after the fatal shooting of US right-wing activist Charlie Kirk in Utah, intensifying concerns over Netanyahu’s personal safety.
Retired Colonel Ronen Cohen, former deputy head of Israel’s military intelligence research division, shared the photo on X, warning of the risks.
“The prime minister was at the window without bulletproof glass, no closed blinds, and not in a secure room. He was fully exposed, even to ordinary firearms,” Cohen said.
He added that in the current climate of heightened hostility towards Netanyahu in the United States, the security lapse is “deeply troubling.”
