Israeli soldiers find Russian explosives in Hezbollah cache
A weapons cache equipped by the Hezbollah group containing hundreds of kilograms of explosives has been discovered near the village of Rajar on the border with Lebanon.
The cache included TNT blocks of Russian manufacture, Caliber.Az reports per Vesty.co.il.
According to the IDF press service, the cache was uncovered thanks to the vigilance of a security officer.
Rajar, a hillside village overlooking Israel's Upper Galilee, has long been a Hezbollah stronghold due to its strategic location near the Blue Line (the UN-demarcated border). The group has reportedly embedded military assets in civilian areas here since the 2006 Lebanon War, using homes, mosques, and fields for storage to evade detection.
Since the ceasefire, the IDF has located over 1,200 weapons caches, 300+ launch sites, and 50 underground tunnels in southern Lebanon, per military estimates. These often include Iranian-supplied Kornet anti-tank missiles, hand-held anti-tank grenade launchers, and explosives like C4 and TNT—many of Russian origin via Iran's procurement networks.
