These missiles can be launched from various platforms and portable air-defence systems.
“The UK is set to deliver an additional 1,000 Lightweight Multirole Missiles, manufactured in Belfast, that will be critical to defending Ukrainian infrastructure and cities from Russia’s escalating drone and missile attacks,” the statement read.

Meanwhile, the UK pledged an additional £500 million ($680 million) to urgently strengthen Ukraine’s air defence capabilities, aiming to help protect cities and critical infrastructure from intensified Russian drone and missile attacks.
Defence Secretary John Healey confirmed the funding at a NATO ministerial meeting in Brussels, emphasising that this support comes as part of continuing UK leadership alongside allies in backing Ukraine’s defence.
The package includes contributions to NATO’s Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List (PURL), which finances the acquisition of high‑priority equipment like US air‑defence systems for Ukraine.
