Ukraine battered overnight as drone wave tears through multiple regions PHOTO
Several regions of Ukraine came under attack in overnight drone strikes, resulting in multiple casualties and damage, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
In the Kharkiv region, eight people were injured in a nighttime drone attack on Balakliia. The agency also reported four additional injuries following a strike on a civilian enterprise in the Kholodnohirskyi district.
“In one of the strikes by an attack drone on the territory of a civilian enterprise in the Kholodnohirskyi district of Kharkiv, a fire broke out. In addition, dry grass burned in an open area in the Osnovianskyi district of the city. Fires were promptly extinguished by emergency units. In the Kyivskyi district, debris from an enemy UAV fell on the territory of a church and in a courtyard near an apartment building. No fire occurred. A car was damaged,” the statement said.
In the Sumy region, two people were injured, including a three-year-old child, as a result of a drone attack. Emergency services conducted damage assessments and carried out recovery work at the site.
In the Zaporizhzhia region, five people were wounded, according to regional governor Ivan Fedorov.
An additional three people were injured in a strike on critical infrastructure in Zaporizhzhia city, where medical assistance was provided, he added.
