Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine’s Defence Ministry (DIU) reported the “neutralisation” of the last Russian rail ferry in annexed Crimea.
“On the night of 5-6 April 2026, experts from DIU's Active Operations Department struck the Slavyanin using UAVs – the last railway ferry of the occupation army still afloat in the Kerch Strait. Slavyanin was crucial for supplying the Russian military contingent in temporarily occupied Crimea with fuel, weapons, military equipment, and ammunition. In March, DIU special forces disabled another occupier ferry, Avangard, and damaged Slavyanin,” the agency said in an official Telegram statement.
