Ukraine confirms attack on oil refinery, other facilities in Russia's Krasnodar
The Ukrainian General Staff has confirmed on Telegram explosions and a fire at the oil refinery in the city of Slavyansk-on-Kuban in Russia's Krasnodar Krai, with the full extent of the damage still under assessment.
The facility, which processes up to 5.2 million tons of oil annually, supplies fuel to Russian military forces.
In addition to the refinery, the General Staff reported damage to Russia’s Nikolaevskaya oil depot in the Rostov region, where a storage tank and the river vessel Kapitan Gibert were affected.
A field artillery depot of the 101st Russian brigade in the Luhansk region was also hit. Furthermore, a drilling rig in the Caspian Sea suffered damage to its stationary platform, forcing the shutdown of all 14 wells and cutting gas production by nearly 3,500 tons per day.
Earlier today, Krasnodar Krai's Operational Headquarters reported that debris from a drone fell on the territory of an oil refinery in Slavyansk-on-Kuban, setting fire to technological equipment and a pipeline covering an area of 100 square metres.
