Ukraine confirms attacks on military sites in Grozny VIDEO
Ukraine’s defence ministry has confirmed strikes on Grozny, the capital city of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria.
Serhii Sternenko, an adviser to Ukraine’s Defence Ministry, in a post on Telegram, called the attack “greetings to Kadyrov”, Caliber.Az reports.
“Greetings to Kadyrov are being delivered by Ukrainian drones currently attacking the capital of Ichkeria — Grozny,” he wrote.
Earlier reports said Ukrainian drones struck the Khankala district of Grozny, where one of Russia’s largest military bases is located, as well as areas near the railway station and the Chechen branch of the Federal Security Service (FSB).
Khankala hosts the headquarters of the 42nd Guards Motor Rifle Division of Russia’s 58th Combined Arms Army under the Southern Military District.
The railway station is located in the central part of the city, less than two kilometres from Ramzan Kadyrov’s residence and about 1.2 kilometres from the Grozny-City complex, while the FSB building in Chechnya is located roughly 120 metres away.
