Ukraine confirms overnight strikes on Russian oil terminal, military targets

22 December 2025 17:59

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has confirmed damage to several Russian military and energy facilities following overnight strikes carried out on December 22, as part of efforts to reduce the military-economic potential of what Kyiv describes as the Russian aggressor.

Ukrainian Defence Forces struck the Tamanneftegaz oil terminal in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ukrainian media.

“A series of explosions was recorded,” the General Staff reported, noting damage to a pipeline, two berths, and vessels at the site. A fire reportedly spread across an area exceeding 1,000 square metres, including parts of the tank farm, with at least one vessel affected.

“Tamanneftegaz” operates the Taman transshipment complex, which handles crude oil, petroleum products, and liquefied hydrocarbon gases. The General Staff described the terminal as part of Russia’s “energy rear,” supporting the financing and logistical supply of military operations.

Separately, Ukrainian forces said a Ukrainian-made missile struck a temporary basing point for watercraft belonging to Russia’s 92nd River Boat Brigade in Olenivka, located in temporarily occupied Crimea. “A significant fire was observed at the impact site,” the General Staff said, adding that the extent of the damage is still being assessed.

Further strikes were reported on the Pokrovsk axis, where Ukrainian forces targeted an ammunition depot of a Russian motorized rifle regiment in the area of Ukrainsk, in the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk region. “According to preliminary information, the target was destroyed,” the General Staff stated.

In addition, Ukrainian forces struck storage, preparation, and launch sites for Shahed/Geran-type attack drones in the area of temporarily occupied Donetsk. The operation was aimed at “partially destroying stocks of attack UAVs and reducing the intensity of their use against the territory of Ukraine,” with fires observed at the targeted locations.

“The Defense Forces continue to take all measures to undermine the military-economic potential of the Russian occupiers and force Russia to stop armed aggression against Ukraine. To be continued! Glory to Ukraine!” the General Staff emphasized.
