Ukraine confirms strikes on Russia's Afipsky refinery and Taganrog aircraft plant
On the night of Saturday, 29 November, Ukrainian Defence Forces struck several targets on the territory of the aggressor state, Russia, including the Afipsky oil refinery in Krasnodar Krai and the aircraft repair plant in Taganrog, Rostov Oblast, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) confirmed.
As a result of the strike on the Afipsky refinery, explosions and a fire were reported. The extent of the damage is currently being assessed.
In Taganrog, the strike hit the facilities of the TANTK G. M. Beriev aircraft repair plant, where modernisation of Tu-95 strategic bombers and A-50 AWACS aircraft is carried out. According to preliminary information from the General Staff, a fire broke out in the workshop for Tu-95 repairs.
The General Staff also reported that during a previous strike on November 25, a vertical tank RV-5000 at the Tuapse sea oil terminal in Krasnodar Krai, Russia, was confirmed destroyed.
Earlier on the night of November 29, reports indicated a UAV attack on the Afipsky oil refinery, one of Russia’s largest, specialising in the production of gasoline and diesel fuel. The refinery has an annual processing capacity of approximately 6.25 million tons.
Previously, the Afipsky refinery had also been targeted at the end of September 2025.
