Ukraine deploys digital tools to clear mines from liberated lands PHOTO
Ukraine is implementing digital solutions to support demining efforts in recently liberated areas, the Ministry of Defence said.
A new platform, developed by Ukrainian experts and scientists, uses data analysis to determine the priority of clearing agricultural land, per Caliber.Az.
This approach will allow resources to be focused on areas where demining is most urgent.
Ukraine faces one of the world's largest mine contamination crises due to the ongoing war with Russia.
In recent years, Ukraine has increasingly leveraged digital and AI‑driven tools to improve demining efficiency. Since 2024, Kyiv has partnered with technology firms, including Palantir, to integrate AI platforms that analyse demining data, prioritise hazardous areas and accelerate clearance operations. These efforts aim to optimise the use of resources and reduce risks for sappers and civilians.
