Ukraine destroys 120 of 150 Russian drones in overnight counterattack
On the night of September 1 to 2, Russia launched 150 drones at Ukraine from five directions, according to a statement from the Ukrainian Air Forces.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Air Forces destroyed most of the targets, but 30 hits were recorded, Caliber.Az reports via Ukrainian media.
“On the night to September 2, the enemy attacked with 150 Shahed-type strike UAVs and various types of decoy drones,” the report said.
The drones were launched from Russian territory: Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from Chauda in temporarily occupied Crimea. The attack was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, drone units, and mobile fire teams of the Ukrainian Defence Forces.
Air defence forces destroyed or suppressed 120 strike drones in the north, south, east, and centre of the country. At the same time, 30 hits were recorded on nine targets, and debris fell in five locations.
