Ukraine downs nearly 100 Russian drones in overnight strike PHOTO
Ukrainian air defence forces destroyed 99 of 119 drones launched by Russian troops against the country from the evening of April 8, the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on Telegram.
Since 18:00 on April 8, Russia deployed strike drones, including Shahed-136, Gerbera, Italmas, and others from Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Hvardiiske, and Donetsk. About 70% of the drones were Shaheds.

The air assault was countered by Ukrainian aviation, missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups. By 08:00 on April 9, air defences had shot down or suppressed 99 drones across northern, southern, and eastern directions. Sixteen strike drones hit 11 locations, while wreckage from intercepted drones fell in four additional areas.
