Ukraine downs over 100 Russian aerial targets in massive overnight assault

Ukraine’s air defence forces successfully intercepted and neutralized more than 100 Russian aerial targets in a large-scale attack spanning the country’s northern, eastern, and southern regions overnight, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced.

According to the official statement, during the night of October 31, Russian forces launched an intensive barrage that included one Iskander-M ballistic missile and 145 attack drones — among them Shahed, Geran, and other types of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), Caliber.Az reports, citing Ukrainian media.

The military noted that approximately 90 of the launched drones were Shaheds, indicating a continued reliance on Iranian-made UAVs for long-range strikes.

Ukraine’s aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare systems, unmanned aerial platforms, and mobile fire groups were all engaged in repelling the air assault.

“As of 9:00 a.m. Kyiv time, preliminary data indicate that air defense units have shot down or suppressed one ballistic missile and 107 enemy drones of various types in the north, south, and east of the country,” the Air Force reported.

In total, 36 drone strikes were recorded across 20 different locations, causing widespread air-raid alerts throughout the night.

“The attack is ongoing — several enemy drones remain in the airspace. Please follow safety rules!” the military warned.

Despite the scale of the assault, Ukrainian forces continue to inflict significant losses on Russian manpower and equipment, undermining Moscow’s capacity to sustain offensive operations along the front.

According to the Ukrainian military, Russian losses over the past 24 hours amounted to nearly 1,000 personnel, in addition to the destruction of a substantial quantity of armored vehicles, artillery systems, and drones.
