Ukraine intercepts most of 86 Russian drones in nighttime attack
Ukrainian forces shot down the majority of 86 drones launched by Russian troops overnight on September 1, though some strikes hit six locations across the country.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force's Telegram channel, Russian forces deployed Shahed attack drones and decoy unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) from six directions: Kursk, Oryol, Bryansk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Hvardiyske in Crimea, per Caliber.Az.
The attack was countered by Ukrainian aviation, air defence missile units, electronic warfare divisions, drone systems, and mobile fire groups of the Defence Forces.
Air defence forces successfully neutralised or suppressed 76 Russian drones across northern, southern, eastern, and central Ukraine.
“Ten strike UAVs hit six locations,” the Ukrainian Air Force said.
