Ukraine lists over 90,000 individuals as missing Both military and civilians
Ukraine's Commissioner for Missing Persons, Artur Dobroserdov, has announced that more than 90,000 individuals are registered as missing in the relevant database.
The provided toll includes both military personnel and civilians, including children, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ukrainian media.
The majority of the entries concern members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Dobroserdov noted that this is only official statistics, which may underestimate the true number.
The database, established in May 2023, serves as the central database for tracking disappearances linked to Russia's full-scale invasion. It records cases of persons missing under special circumstances, including those from combat zones, occupied areas, or as a result of hostilities, and includes sections for unidentified human remains to aid forensic efforts.
In June 2025, over 70,000 were registered, and by February 2026, it exceeded 90,000 — reflecting continued casualties, captures, and unresolved cases four years into the war. International organisations like the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) have supported Ukraine's efforts, noting over 80,000 missing in late February 2026 assessments, though figures vary by source and methodology.
