Ukraine repels massive Russian drone assault overnight PHOTO

In the early hours of April 8, Russia launched an attack on Ukraine with 176 strike drones, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and others, with approximately 120 being Shahed drones, the Ukrainian Armed Forces announced.

The aerial assault was countered by aviation units, surface-to-air missile troops, electronic warfare and drone units, and mobile fire teams of the Ukrainian Defence Forces. 

Preliminary data indicate that by morning, air defences had shot down or neutralised 146 drones across northern, southern, and eastern regions of the country.

Twenty-four strike drones hit 12 locations, while debris from downed drones was recorded at one additional site.
