Ukraine repels Russia’s strikes with “Iskander”, drones
Ukraine’s Air Force said it repelled a Russian aerial assault overnight on May 21, with air defence units, electronic warfare (EW) units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups involved in the response, the Armed Forces of Ukraine has stated.
It said Russia used an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 116 strike drones of the Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas types, as well as decoy drones of the Parody type, Caliber.Az reports.
As of 08:30, preliminary data indicate that air defence systems had shot down or suppressed 109 drones in the north, south, and east of the country.
According to the report, a ballistic missile and five strike drones hit five locations, while debris from downed targets fell at four additional sites.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine added that the attack is ongoing.
