Ukraine reports destruction of missile carriers at Russian Black Sea base

Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces (USF) destroyed several military vessels, including missile carriers, at the Russian naval base in Novorossiysk during an overnight attack on September 9, USF commander Robert Brovdi, known by his call sign “Magyar,” said.

“During the night of September 9, the Novorossiysk naval base lost a number of military vessels, including missile carriers,” Brovdi said in a statement.

He also said Ukrainian forces destroyed a Su-33 carrier-based fighter and an Mi-8 helicopter in Anapa, as well as two radar systems.

According to Brovdi, the USF also destroyed a Kasta 2E2 radar and a 92N6 radar associated with an S-300/S-400 air-defense system in Gelendzhik.

Brovdi did not provide further details on the number or types of vessels allegedly destroyed at the Novorossiysk naval base. The claims have not been independently verified.
