Ukraine reports high-precision missile strikes on Kyiv from Caspian Sea region
Today's [June 26] strike on Kyiv, as a result of which civilians were injured, was carried out by high-precision and the most expensive missiles of the Russian Federation from the Caspian Sea area.
The speaker of the Air Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Yuriy Ignat, made the statement this on the air of the All-Ukrainian telethon, UNIAN reports.
According to him, for today's strike on the Kyiv region, the enemy used strategic aviation from the areas of the Caspian Sea.
"They are taking off in Astrakhan Region, they are armed with the main missiles that are launched at us – this is the X-101. It can fly at a distance of 5,500 km. That is, they don't have to fly to us. They just need to take off into the air, get on a combat course and release missiles," he said.
Ignat said that from four to six missiles were previously fired today, and two of them were shot down by air defence forces. He clarified that the X-101 missile is the highest–precision and most expensive missile that is in service with Russia.
The speaker believes that the enemy has a lot of missiles in service, but there is already a need to save them.
