Ukraine says Russia used over 400 drones, ballistic missile in overnight attack

On the night of July 15 to 16, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with a ballistic missile and more than 400 drones of various types, with the main targets being Kryvyi Rih, Kharkiv, and Vinnytsia.

According to Ukraine's Air Force, Russian troops launched a large-scale combined attack, using an Iskander-M ballistic missile along with over 400 strike drones, including Shahed-type drones and various types of decoy drones, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ukrainian media.

The launches were carried out from the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea and several regions of the Russian Federation, including Shatalovo, Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

As of 08:30 a.m., preliminary data indicates that Ukrainian air defences successfully destroyed 198 enemy strike drones approaching from the north, east, south, and central parts of the country.

Additionally, 145 decoy drones were neutralised by electronic warfare systems.

At the same time, one missile and 57 drones hit targets in 12 settlements, while in two more locations, debris from intercepted drones caused damage.
