Ukraine reports massive drone attack, claims 192 intercepted

Ukraine came under a large-scale drone attack overnight, while its air defences were actively engaged across multiple regions of the country, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has stated.

In a post on Telegram, it said Russian forces launched 216 strike drones of various types — including “Shahed,” “Gerbera,” and “Italmas,” as well as decoy drones referred to as “Parody,” Caliber.Az reports.

The aerial assault was reportedly repelled by aviation units, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s defence forces.

As of 09:30 local time, preliminary data indicated that 192 drones were shot down or suppressed over northern, southern, eastern, and central regions of the country.

Authorities said 25 strike drones hit 10 locations, while debris from downed drones fell in five additional sites.

“The attack is ongoing, with up to ten enemy drones still in Ukrainian airspace. Observe safety rules,” the General Staff said.
