Ukraine’s air defences repel large-scale Russian drone assault PHOTO

In the early hours of December 25, Ukraine was attacked by 131 Russian strike drones, including Shahed and Gerbera models, launched from Kursk, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), Donetsk (temporarily occupied territories), and Gvardeyskoye and Chauda (temporarily occupied Crimea). 

Around 90 of the drones were Shahed models, Caliber.Az reports via the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The air assault was countered by aviation units, surface-to-air missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Defence Forces. 

Preliminary data indicate that Ukraine’s air defences destroyed or neutralised 106 Russian drones. Strikes by 22 drones were recorded at 15 locations.
