Ukraine’s Chernihiv region suffers casualties, outages after Russian strikes PHOTO

Russian forces struck energy and civilian infrastructure in Ukraine’s Chernihiv region, causing widespread damage, power outages, and killing two people while injuring another two.

Vyacheslav Chaus, head of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration, wrote on Telegram that several attacks were recorded in Chernihiv city, Caliber.Az reports.

During the attacks, a “Geranium” drone struck an industrial facility, damaging an administrative building, a garage, vehicles, and a passenger bus.

Another strike struck an apartment in a nine-story building, setting fire to a sixth-floor unit and nearby vehicles, while windows in surrounding buildings, including a school, were damaged.

Energy facilities were also targeted, leaving tens of thousands of residents without electricity. In the Chernihiv district, a “Geranium” strike hit a gardening association, breaking windows in several homes. In the village of Snovska community, an FPV drone struck an energy facility, cutting power to several settlements.

Civilian casualties were reported in other locations: in one village, a drone hit a logging truck, killing the 63-year-old driver; in the Novhorod-Siverskyi district, an FPV drone struck a civilian car, killing a 39-year-old driver and injuring a passenger, who is in stable condition.

Additionally, a “Molniya” drone struck a former hotel complex in Semenivka. A total of 85 enemy strikes with 126 explosions were recorded in the past 24 hours.
