Ukraine’s parliament extends martial law for 19th time
28 April 2026 15:27
Ukraine’s parliament has extended martial law for the 19th time, prolonging the measure for another 90 days, with 315 lawmakers voting in favour.
The restrictions will remain in effect from May 5 to August 2, 2026, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ukrainian media.
This 19th extension aims to maintain defence capacity amid the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.
Martial law restricts movement, allows for mobilising resources, and suspends elections.
It was first introduced in Ukraine in February 2022 and has been regularly extended since then.
