Ukraine says 135 Russian drones downed in overnight attack
04 May 2026 11:14
Ukraine said its air defences intercepted the majority of drones launched by Russia in a large-scale overnight attack on May 4.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russia deployed 155 strike and decoy unmanned aerial vehicles, including Shahed-type drones, as well as Gerbera, Italmas, and Parody models, Caliber.Az reports.
Preliminary data indicated that as of 9:00 a.m., Ukrainian air defence forces had shot down or otherwise neutralised 135 drones across the northern, southern, and eastern regions of the country.
Despite the interceptions, 14 strike drones hit targets at 10 locations, while debris from downed UAVs was reported at four additional sites.
